IOWA - THE HAWKEYE STATE

IOWA STATE GUIDE

Iowa is in America's heartland and is its welcome centre. Sightseeing in Iowa ranges from historic frontier forts to culturally rich cities, from authentic American farms to Old World charm in places such as Pella and the Amana Colonies to world-famous movie sites, including 'Fields of Dreams' and 'The Bridges of Madison Country'.

Iowa is bordered in the west by the Missouri River and in the east by the Mississippi River, and this Midwest state is a patchwork of fertile plains and forested hills, crisscrossed by rivers. Iowa is one of the major farming states in the United States.

Estherville, near the northern border, is the gateway to the states leading resort area, the Iowa Great Lakes.
