MINNESOTA STATE GUIDE

Minnesota is at a crossroads of the United States, where east meets west, country meets city and prairie meets forest. The state is around the same size as the UK, but in contrast, has under 5 million residents. This explains why beautiful scenery, nature and wildlife are abundant throughout the state. Minnesota is home to one of the largest populations of the American Bald Eagle. These majestic birds and other species are found in nature reserves and state parks, in particular along the Mississippi River flyway, which serves as a natural migration pattern. Minnesota also boasts the only water-based park in the national park system - Voyageurs National Park.

At the same time, world-class shopping, dining and nightlife is found in many cities in the state. Minneapolis, the largest city, is alive with nightclubs, music, theatres and other entertainment whilst St. Paul, the capital city, offers a statelier atmosphere. Minnesota is also home to the largest shopping and entertainment complex in the United States - Mall of America.
